Improve Your Writing By Knowing Your Archetypes: Are you a Queen? byGabrielle Javier-Cerulli

Do you sometimes get frustrated as a writer because you’re not exactly sure of your authentic voice?  Maybe you’re not sure in which genre you fit best?  By knowing your guiding archetypes, you will connect to your core and understand who you truly are and maybe more importantly, who you are not.  Consequently, your writing will improve because you’ll feel confident of your word choices, characters, themes, and everything in between since it will all come from your essence.  You’ll write with volition!

Does this sound like you:  you have authority; you lead others; manage people and/or programs; possibly have a staff or run a household; and often make decisions, especially the tough ones?  If so, one of your guiding archetypes is The Queen.  You can be The Queen of your home, in a corporate setting, or of your yoga studio.  It simply means you are meant to rule, guide, and organize.  Sometimes people might call you bossy but often people look to you as the one to get things done.  Queens do well in managerial roles for jobs.  In relationships, she may be the one who makes the majority of the decisions.

Those with the Queen archetype would do well writing non-fiction articles such as How To, Top 10, or advice pieces because they can exercise and share their expertise and speak with authority.  In fiction, the Queen may do well by having another Queen archetype as the main character because she will be able to relate and create from a deeper level.  A few examples of characters the writer may use are: the founder of a startup organization, a school principal, a strong mom who has three children raise, a restaurant owner, or a nurse manager.  The Queen writer possesses an inner strength and desire to manage, thus, she can relate these qualities onto her characters.  A feeling of authority imbues her work.

Writers who are the Queen get things done.  They aren’t ones to have unfinished projects lying around.  If they do, they will make the executive decision to ditch it or find someone else to complete it for them.  They are also planners because their to-do list is so long, they must have structure in their daily lives.  I could also see a Queen hiring a ghost writer – paying someone to do they grunt work for them but managing the progress.
