Billie Jo Woods

I write novels mainly for young adults. I prefer to write science fiction, fantasy and dystopian novels but that is just because those are the worlds that exist in my head. I have several completed novels but you won't have read any of them yet because I lack the confidence to send them out in the world. I have an addiction to making the pictures in my head come to life in the form of words so I carry on writing.

My blog is call Out of the Woods. I named it that because I used to write in my notebooks while sitting on a flat rock in the woods while I was growing up and since my last name is also Woods, well you get the idea. Now I write in the recesses of my bedroom with a laptop perched on my knee. Blogging and connecting with other writers is giving me more confidence and from time to time I share a flash piece or a bit of poetry on my blog. Mostly, it is devoted to my writing progress and mad thoughts on the writing world.

I have been known to tweet about my writing process from time to time and always follow my fellow writers back.

I participated in my first NaNoWriMo in November 2011 and then returned for Camp NaNoWriMo in August 2012. These both gave me huge kick starts which I found most useful for getting the juices flowing. I plan to join in again in November 2012.
