Amy lives in Minnesota and works full time in the biotech industry answering technical questions for scientists who are characterizing newly discovered proteins. She loves both science and nature, and is an enthusiastic reader and writer of science fiction, fantasy, and children's stories about the wonder of the natural world.

Her publishing debut was a picture book titled Under the Night Sky about a single, working mom who surprises her son with a night-time excursion to experience the magic of the northern lights.

Currently, Amy is working on a YA science fiction project about a boy who believes he has grown up in a village in Japan during the Samurai era, but learns that, not only is he not living on Earth, but there is a plot to destroy his beloved village. Of course, only he can stop it.
