Icarus Phaethon

Icarus Phaethon was born, raised and educated in England. After travelling to Africa and Asia he decided to emigrate to the Antipodes to best serve his desire to never have to shiver again in mid-winter or wear mittens.

He traveled extensively with his wife for most of the ensuing decade, which broadened his outlook and life philosophies.

His desire to write was mostly reflected in the lyrics that accompanied hundreds of songs he wrote that now languish idly in iTunes collecting dust and waiting for a tone-deaf buyer.

Then, after some spectacular experiences, he started on what would become his 369-page magnum opus - Au Revoir, Descartes. Twelve years later he finally self-published the book that is now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle format. He sees the book as appealing to readers of Sophie's World and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, although it is unique in its own right, offering readers a potent mix of travel narrative, biography, love story, Platonic philosophy and a life-affirming journey of the soul.

He currently lives and works in the tropics somewhere, does not shiver or wear mittens anymore, but enjoys playing guitar and writing. He is currently working on an original script as his next writing project.
