Joy Castro

Joy Castro’s memoir The Truth Book was named a Book Sense Notable Book by the American Booksellers Association and excerpted in The New York Times Magazine.  Her work has appeared in North American Review, Fourth Genre, Seneca Review, and other journals and has been recognized in Best American Essays 2010 and 2011.  She teaches at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is the author of the forthcoming thriller Hell or High Water (St. Martin’s, July 2012), which has been selected as the September 2012 book of the month by Las Comadres National Latino Book Club, and the essay collection Island of Bones (U of Nebraska, September 2012).  She does not have a room of her own.
