I'm one of those creative persons trying to find myself through self-expression in both writing and art, often combining the two. I've journaled for approximately 25 years and everything and everyone is fair game as I eek out poetry and essays. Like most, life has been a mix of comedy and tragedy. Although....
My fragmented saga continues to tilt toward bizarre on way too many occasions. As a result, writing in fragments became my favorite mode of expression in my journals and carries over into my memoir. Some say it's a short-attention span that's at play and I say - What do they know? So I promise, when I finish this memoir, you can judge for yourself. We can play - "I can top that" till we see who wins. My greatest fear is that only my journals will be published which is why I'm writing as fast as I can.
For now, much time is spent submitting work and mostly getting rejected. Blogging is a favorite pastime and recently I've been asked to submit to other's blogs. I cover a range of topics but am mainly concerned with the creative process and what possesses anyone to bring the inside out. I'm beginning to think there just can't be enough angst in the world.
I've been published in a few places. Water Cooler Diaries, ed. Joni Cole ( ©2008 Da Capa Press) and Happy Birthday, Mr. Lincoln, ed. Anna Di Bella ( ©2009 Pen Woman Press) are the two books my work is in. A poem tweet was featured on NPR's Tell Me More program with Michel Martin in April, 2011. A couple of recent sites I've been included on are The Write Place at the Write Time and National Picture Book Week's blog. I'm working on a couple of direct publishing titles that I want to publish before the end of the year. One is a poetry book and the other is a helpful guide.
I'm retired from my day job and spend my full-time now in creative endeavors. I serve on the Greater Dover Arts Council and am past national president of The National League of American Pen Women. I tweet and Facebook on a regular basis as well as blog.

Dating isn’t an easy job. There really isn’t an application process. You just sort of become self-employed in the field of searching for someone—not just anyone—someone special to date. My career in this area is/was an arduous one—I’ve kept meticulous field notes which are slowly developing into the basis of my New York Times bestseller. I may win an award for my invaluable, untiring research.
I will share with you—as sort of a Public Service Announcement—what you might expect if you decide to foray into this uncertain job market. You're required to write your own job description, do your own background search, review all the resumes of perspective suitors. You are expected to do your own recruitment. Online dating, much like aging, is not for sissies.
