Martin Lake

I live in the West Country of England with my wife.  After studying at the University of East Anglia I worked as a teacher, trainer and company director.

A strangely serious accident (I claim it was caused by cage-fighting but I actually slipped over) shattered my arm and meant that I had to rein back my work.

I decided to concentrate on writing and am now writing full-time.   I write a wide range of fiction.   My main interests are historical fiction, short stories and fiction for young adults.

I have written a series of novels set in the years following the Norman Invasion of England. The first novel is called, The Lost King: Resistance; the second, Wasteland.

I am currently working on a novel set in Jerusalem in the twelfth century and a novel set in the nineteenth century.

My work has been broadcast on radio.   I won first prize in the Kenneth Grahame Society competition to write a story based on 'The Wind in the Willows.'  You can get the collection, 'The Wind in the Willows Short Stories' from Amazon.  All proceeds for this go to the Kenneth Grahame Society.
