Cat Woods
I'm a juvenile lit junkie. I write for children of all ages, from board books to dark YA. My agent is Stephen Fraser from The Jennifer DeChiara Literary Agency. While I've published in the adult arena (short stories, poetry, articles and columns--under a different byline), I have since focused on writing for kids. The journey is very different, yet has challenged me in ways that adult lit never did. I present at area schools and have participated as a speaker for Young Writer's Conferences.
Literacy is very important to me and is the focus of several upcoming projects I'm working on, including a middle grade novel.
When I'm not writing, I captain my crew of seven -- a wonderfully supportive husband, four beautiful children and two labs (neither wonderful nor beautiful) -- advocate for children in the court system and volunteer for various community organizations.
