Alex Taylor Wolfe
I have been writing for many years, both short stories and poetry. In High School, I took classes on creative writing and Poetry, excelling in the classes. My senior year I was asked by my creative writing teacher to submit a poem for publication to a book entitled “The Rage”, a project headed by Lynda M. Nelson, Author of “The Little Red Buckets” and “My Master’s Touch,” and published by The Reflections Publishing Company.
During both my freshman and sophomore years at BYU-Idaho I studied several English related classes along with taking an advanced writing class, hoping to extend my knowledge of the written language. The works of Shakespeare, Emily Bronte and Edger Allen Poe were some of my favorite subjects. I have continued writing poetry for many years, even after getting married in 2000.
In 2005, I attended a Seminar in Nashville TN, where several authors of Children’s books were speakers. When I returned home I started on my first and currently uncompleted novel “Summer in the Bitterroot.” Not long thereafter, the story line for “Sweetwater Springs” developed and I could not contain the urge to put it to paper, developing the characters and story line in any spare time I could find. Over the years that Sweetwater Springs has been in development, it has become a truly satisfying, albeit long, endeavor.
As a mother of four young children I have struggled to find the time I would like to allow for my writing. However, at the urging of a very wonderful and understandable husband, the manuscript for Sweetwater Springs is complete. Currently I am working on several new manuscripts and I am enjoying, any chance I can get to live in my fairy tale land with new and different characters.
