Why hello there, crunchy children.
I’m Katje (pronounced “kat-CHUH”). I’m 25 (read: old), a recent graduate of university (flipping finally!), an actor, and an unproductive member of society. (Society of Shut-Ins, mainly. We make plans to meet and cancel at the last minute.)
I also write. A lot less than I’d've liked in recent years, and a lot more than allows for eating and drinking and peeing now that I’m a graduate. (Bodily needs are overrated anyway.)
What do I write? Fantasy fiction, primarily. Also poetry and blog entries. I’ve published one book (of poetry, which is why you’ve never heard of it) and am in the process of launching my first novel, which I finished two years ago and have been letting it sit and collect dust before I could bear to rewrite it (happening…now).
Random facts about me, in no particular order:
*Like the Force, but lazier.
Other Stuff
I live in British Columbia, have no pets (yet!), rent, long-term committed relationship (so committed we’re certifiable — relationship built upon mutual snarking, ogre-like courtship, and ignoring each other steadily), citizen of three different countries, own too much stuff, use a Mac but am a PC-lover at heart, eat meat, identify as a genderqueer cissexual femme (which means I’m not female, but feel free to use female pronouns and call me a woman), European-Native ancestry, druid-in-training, Witch since I could speak, member of the religious left, low tolerance for bigotry.
*takes a breath*
Also, I’m 5’10.
Interests (aside from the obvious ones of writing and reading)
Yarn crafts, gaming, camping, cooking, weddings, amateur photography (read: Myspace-shots with duck lips GALORE), painting my partner’s nails while he sleeps.
I mean, kittens.

Random facts about me, in no particular order:
- I’m a surprise goth.
- I have single-handedly kept the economy alive through my purchases of nail polish and school supplies.
- My graduation from University yielded me with two half-degrees (diplomas), which I suppose gives me one degree. Take from that what you will. (The diplomas in question are Individually Selected Studies, otherwise known as the "I’ve been in school so long I’d be happy with ANY piece of paper with my name on it” degree and Arrts & Science. Yes, with those typos exactly. Also with the wrong dates. But I digress.)
- I, um, still don’t fully understand Twitter. But I try! I really, really do.
- I have been blogging for over 7 years now, and have not gotten any wiser or more coherent in that time. Read at your own risk!
- All my favourite shows get cancelled, with few exceptions (Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek are specific exceptions). I am no longer allowed to like shows lest the producers sense the disturbance in the Yield* and cancel it.
- I cannot live without chocolate, coffee, the internet, and boys in dresses.
*Like the Force, but lazier.
