Alison Wells
I was born in London, but have lived most of my life in Ireland and am now in Bray, Co. Wicklow with my husband and four young children. Short stories and flash fiction are a passion and the best thing I ever did was join the #fridayflash community. One of my #fridayflash stories was published in the Irish literary journal Crannóg. In 2009 I was shortlisted in the Hennessy XO awards for New Irish Writing and in 2010 for the Bridport prize. Some stories have been published in WOW, The Sunday Tribune, The Higgs Boson Anthology, in Voices of Angels by Bridgehouse, Eighty Nine and Deck the Halls by Literary Mix Tapes.
With more projects than time or sense, I have just completed a short story collection and a comedy sci-fi adventure novel and am working on a literary novel and a flash fiction collection.
I'm a resident blogger on the national Irish writing website Writing.ie and on my own site Head Above Water where I talk about writing and head space in the midst of parenting chaos.
