Ty Barbary

Ty Barbary blends science fiction and fantasy with an unorthodox twist, frequently writing fiction that entirely lacks humans and any mention of Earth.

Ty has been exploring gritty, visceral otherworlds for over a decade, starting in 2001 with a modern-day scifi YA serial and continuing to 2011's current project, a novel revolving around wild, ghost-powered animalistic machines and the aliens who pilot them. Between those projects, over 700 pieces of fiction - short stories, serial installments, poems, and songs - have been written.

Ty grew up in the heart of the Appalachians, moved to the Rockies for a few years, and is currently living in the Sierra Nevada mountains with its partner J, as well as five cats, a small dog, and a large goldfish. When not working as a web guru, Ty spends waking hours worldbuilding, creating and learning languages, doodling, writing and singing songs, studying martial arts, and clambering around on large rocks.
