Since getting my dog Bailey I've suddenly realised what I want my career to be and hit a rich vein of writing form which has seen the last 18 months result in a new short film called 'It's Natural To Be Afraid' that was produced late 2010 and is currently doing well on the film festival circuit as well as a new show for my comedy troupe 'The Great Brain Robbery'. This year sees us taking the show to Edinburgh Fringe for the first time.
Most proudly, I recently completed the first drafts of two pulp crime feature films, one an adaptation and one an original piece. The original is called 'A Sweet Little Bullet From A Pretty Blue Gun'. Named after the Tom Waits song but all my own words. That looks like being the film we intend to make our debut feature, which is incredibly exciting.
So what do I want to do as a career? Educate in Cinema at University level. In order to do that, I need the qualification, so I'm undertaking a PhD (Professional Doctorate) in Cinema. So when I'm writing and tagging #amwriting it could be for films, comedy sketches or my PhD. I'll try and remember to add those tags also so I don't confuse anyone, not least myself.
That's me then. Add a deep love of music, a beautiful wife and a restless spirit and that's all you need to know. For now.
