Lara Adrienne Dunning
Lara Adrienne Dunning is an MFA Creative Writing student at the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts. Her writing interests are Young Adult, Fiction, Historical-Fiction and Fantasy. She enjoys writing flash fiction and often dreams about her stories. Her current WIP is a Young Adult vampire novel, and yes it does have a twist.
Lara works for Fine Edge Recreational and Nautical Publishing and Burrows Bay Associates. She is also the co-founder of Fidalgo Island Writers Guild and a member of Whidbey Island Writers , SCBWI and the Pacific Northwest Writers Association. Lara is a committee member and writer for the Marketing and Promotions Division at the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce.
Lara grew up in the Mid-West and spent her childhood and teen years writing short stories and poetry. As a young adult she moved to Alaska where she lived for three years on a small island on the Aleutian chain and seven years in Anchorage. In Anchorage she earned her BA in Anthropology at the University of Alaska Anchorage as well as delving into photography and journalism. Lara continued her studies in the Indigenous Studies Graduate Program at SUNY Buffalo. Lara currently resides on Fidalgo Island and is earning her MFA in Creative Writing with a focus on Young Adult at the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts.
